Work Permits for Students

WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL WORK PERMIT PROCESS

Students: Please remember you need to get hired for the job prior to applying for a work permit as the employer must fill out their portion of the application. To avoid delays, your application must be legible and complete.

Parents: Please remember to ensure that your child and their potential employer are observing all federal, state, and local guidelines to ensure health and safety precautions are followed.

Steps:

1. Complete the Request for Work Permit Form.

2. Bring your completed request form to Mrs. Ponssen in room F243, or if she is not in, drop it off with your attendance clerk. As a last resort, you may email the form along with a photo ID (School ID / California ID / California Driver’s License) to Mrs. Ponssen at mponssen@fusdk12.net.

3. Again, in order to avoid any delays in the process, please check that your email address (if different from the school fusdk12.net one) is legible, your social security number is provided, and the Work Permit Request Form is complete.

4. Give at least three school days of time to process. Once processed, you will receive an email from Mrs. Ponssen to come to room F243 to sign and pick up your work permit.

Reminders:

* The work permit is good for the 2022-23 school year.

** You must maintain a 2.0 GPS or your work permit will be revoked.
